Ballet 180 presents A Charlie Brown Christmas, an original ballet that sweeps audiences off their feet with lively characters that dance to the sounds of Vince Guaraldi’s timeless soundtrack. This fun, jazzy ballet captivates fans of all ages. The ballet is directed and choreographed by Kelly Murray Farrell and stars guest artist Daniel Mayo of BalletX alongside Ballet 180 company members and Student Company dancers ages 7-18.

The Holiday production provides a fresh spin on the true reason for the season: giving of one’s self to others. This theme echoes the dance company’s mission of enriching lives through high-quality artistry and service to society. Ballet 180 is bringing that mission to life, both on stage and in the community. In addition to the performance, Ballet 180 is taking action by making and donating warm blankets to Project Linus. Project Linus provides love, a sense of security, and warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans.

Ballet 180 presents Transformed, a mixed repertory performance featuring two world premiere pieces by guest choreographers Colby Damon and SarahKim (SK) Vennard, as well as an original work from Ballet 180’s repertoire. Inspired by the company’s mission to encourage positive change through dance, the show, featuring three emotionally compelling works, will take audiences on a journey of self-reflection and contemplate how introspection sparks change and transformation.

Colby Damon’s On the Islands in the Eastern Seas draws from the philosophical and spiritual writings of the Taoist sage Zhuang Zi. The piece explores the various experiences one undergoes while seeking the ultimate truth, and the potentials of reality contained therein. SK Vennard’s Assembly Required explores growth, development and connection of community – the individual contributions of a community coming together to make it stronger. Hybrid, an original ballet from Ballet 180’s repertoire, will move audience members to reflect upon the impact of technology in their own lives and inspire them to re-connect with the emotional world around them. This piece features an original score by local musician, Leonardo Le San.
