Ballet 180 is the premier professional contemporary ballet company of the Philadelphia Main Line.
With a commitment to community and personal well-being, Ballet 180 inspires a 180-degree positive transformation of the mind, body, and soul. We dance to enrich your life through high-quality artistry and service to society. Our motto is love kindness, do justice, and dance humbly.
We create and foster a positive environment in the dance studio and in our community activities.
We use dance to create awareness about about complex concepts and to reduce injustice in the world.
We dance as a collective group for the benefit of others rather than for self-fulfilling ambitions.
Ballet 180 (formerly 180 Dance Company) was founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Kelly Murray Farrell. The contemporary ballet company made its debut in September of 2009 with a successful performance at the Chester County Art Association. Since then, the company’s presence has been sought out and requested for performances at festivals, school assemblies, black-tie galas, church services, wedding ceremonies, and other public events. Ballet 180 performs original work through main stage performances at the Rotwitt Theater of Rosemont College and the company’s repertoire is featured at black box performances, festivals, and showcases. The company has performed with regional and international artists through participation in the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA), Philadelphia Dance Collective, the Philadelphia FringeArts Festival, Fringe Wilmington, and Philly’s Got Talent, among others.
